I got webroot spysweeper about 5 years ago and got rid of it 3 years ago because it was not compatible with my new anti-virus that has built in spyware. I have not had any contact with webroot for over 3 years and last week they automatically renewed my subscription and charged my credit card. I was furious. I haven’t purchased anything or renewed anything from them in THREE YEARS. I think they were hoping I wouldn’t care or know. When I tried to call them I could not get a human. I hung up after an hour. (I had them on speaker phone while I worked) I had to go online to get my refund. The jury is still out on that yet. STAY AWAY from webroot.

I have to say that this product is a waste of money. You are better off getting a security suite that includes spyware sweeper. I have compared this product to others and I have to say that it is not worth the additional money spent. In fact, Microsoft’s spyware sweeper which is free is just as good or better. I have also tried other products, some store bought and some free, and this product does not warrant the expenditure. I had problems with this product so I called their tech support and was informed by the automated message that there is a long wait and that if I wanted better support I had to pay for the faster tech support. I was then informed that I had to wait 45 minutes. Needless to say I don’t think that this product warrants 45 minutes of wait time to get it fixed. I will never purchase a Webroot product ever again.

The worst customer service I have ever had…period.
I have come to realize that working products & services are only 1 piece of the COMPLETE package. If you don’t have GOOD customer service then you really have nothing. This product is just ok compared to others and if you want to support a company that won’t support you then go ahead and get this. I bought this to try and will never use webroot products again. If you demand superior products and services look elsewhere. I would recommend another but I don’t want this to look like I’m here to promote another over this. This product is average at best and its well below average support makes it a waste of your hard earned cash. Most people won’t even come back to leave a review. I thought it was important enough to do so, so that others won’t make the same mistake I did.

Fistly the company who used to have great tech support, now charges for expert tech – no long wait support. People who want to use the free tech suport option will have to wait an average of an hour – for low level tech help. They do not answer/reply tech support emails sent to them.
The software worked well with version 5 on XP Windows Operating Systems.
When I Upgraded to version 6 and higher – it totally slowed my system down to a crawl!!! A big CPU and MEMORY HOG!!! I have a very powerful system with lots of ram.
I uninstalled version 6 and went back to version 5.8 which runs with an acceptable amount of system resources.
The company when I first started using the product had great free no long wait tech support – well thats gone – no more!!
When my subscription ends, I will switch to another program probably Zonealarm extreme or bitdefender.
This software and the company are no longer any good!!!!
I will no longer recconmend this software to anyone.
